A Place to Feel Safe, Supported, and Understood

At Haven Tree Counseling, we believe healing begins with feeling safe enough to be honest about what you are carrying.

Sometimes life becomes heavy in ways that are difficult to explain. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, exhausted, or simply aware that something needs to change. You may have been holding things together for a long time and are not even sure where to begin.

You do not need to arrive with the perfect words.

Haven Tree Counseling was created to offer a calm, supportive space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing. Our goal is not to rush you toward an answer or tell you who you should become. Instead, counseling is approached as a collaborative process where your experiences, values, strengths, and hopes are respected.

Here, you are invited to begin exactly where you are.

Why “Haven Tree”?

The name Haven Tree Counseling reflects what we hope therapy can become for each person who walks through our door.

A haven is a place of safety, refuge, and rest.

A tree represents grounding, strength, resilience, and growth.

Trees do not grow all at once. They endure difficult seasons, adapt to change, strengthen their roots, and continue reaching toward new possibilities. In many ways, healing can look the same.

Our hope is that Haven Tree Counseling can be a place where you feel grounded enough to explore what has been difficult, supported enough to understand yourself more deeply, and hopeful enough to imagine what may be possible moving forward.

Counseling That Begins With the Person, Not the Problem

At Haven Tree Counseling, you are more than a diagnosis, symptom, or difficult season.

We believe that every person brings a unique story shaped by relationships, experiences, culture, identity, values, strengths, and circumstances. Because of that, therapy should never feel like a one-size-fits-all process.

Rather than beginning with, “What is wrong with you?” we are more interested in questions like:

What have you been carrying?

What has helped you survive difficult seasons?

What feels important to you?

What keeps showing up in your life?

And what might healing, connection, or change look like for you?

Counseling is tailored to the individual in front of us, with an emphasis on genuine connection, curiosity, compassion, and respect.

A Different Kind of Therapy Experience

Therapy does not have to feel cold, intimidating, or overly clinical.

At Haven Tree Counseling, we want the counseling relationship to feel human.

That means creating space for the difficult conversations, but also for silence, humor, uncertainty, questions, and moments when you simply do not know what to say.

You will not be expected to perform, have everything organized, or show up as a polished version of yourself.

Our role is not to judge your choices or tell you how to live your life. Instead, we work alongside you to better understand what you are experiencing, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, identify strengths you may have lost sight of, and explore meaningful ways forward.

Healing can take time. Our hope is to provide a steady place for that process to unfold.

Care That Honors Your Whole Story

Who we are is shaped by much more than what happens inside the therapy room.

Family, culture, language, relationships, community, identity, faith, life experiences, and the environments we have lived in can all influence how we understand ourselves and the world around us.

Haven Tree Counseling strives to provide care that respects the whole person.

We want clients to feel comfortable bringing the parts of themselves that matter to them into counseling rather than feeling that they need to leave pieces of their identity outside the door.

For clients who feel more comfortable expressing themselves in Spanish, counseling is available in both English and Spanish. Clients are welcome to communicate in the language that feels most natural or move between both languages during therapy.

Sometimes being understood begins with being able to speak from the place that feels most like home.

Support Through Different Seasons of Life

People seek counseling for many different reasons.

Sometimes there has been a painful event, loss, relationship change, or experience that feels difficult to move beyond.

Other times, there may not be one clear reason at all. You may simply feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, uncertain, or tired of repeating the same patterns.

Haven Tree Counseling supports children, adolescents, and adults through a variety of emotional and life experiences.

For younger clients, counseling may include developmentally appropriate and play-based approaches that allow children to communicate and process experiences in ways that feel natural to them.

For adolescents and adults, therapy may provide space to better understand emotions, relationships, patterns, experiences, and the parts of life that may feel difficult to navigate alone.

No two clients are the same, and counseling should reflect that.

Thoughtful, Individualized Care

Our approach to counseling is grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship matters.

Treatment may draw from person-centered, existential-humanistic, trauma-informed, strengths-based, mindfulness-based, cognitive behavioral, motivational, psychoeducational, and developmentally appropriate approaches depending on the needs of the client.

But the method is never more important than the person.

Techniques are used thoughtfully and collaboratively rather than simply because they fit a label or diagnosis.

The goal is to create counseling that feels meaningful and relevant to your life.

In-Person and Telehealth Counseling

Haven Tree Counseling offers counseling both in person in Plano, Texas and through secure telehealth for clients who are eligible to receive services remotely.

Some people appreciate having a dedicated space outside of home where they can slow down and focus entirely on themselves.

Others value the comfort, flexibility, and accessibility of meeting virtually from a private space that feels familiar.

Both options are designed around the same goal: creating a counseling environment where you can feel supported, respected, and able to engage meaningfully in the therapeutic process.

A Place to Begin

You do not have to wait until things become unbearable before reaching out.

You also do not need to know exactly what you want from therapy.

Sometimes the first step is simply recognizing that you would like something to feel different.

Maybe you want to understand yourself better.

Maybe you are tired of carrying something alone.

Maybe you want healthier relationships, more confidence, greater peace, or simply a place where you can finally say what you have been holding inside.

Whatever brings you here, we can begin there.

At Haven Tree Counseling, our hope is to offer more than a place to talk. We want to provide a space where you can feel grounded, supported, and understood while you begin moving toward the life, relationships, and sense of self that feel meaningful to you.
